FOUR RULE NUTRITION  CHALLENGE!

While driving home from up north this weekend trying to outrun a blizzard I was listening to the Ben Bergeron "Chasing Excellence" Podcast.  Ben Bergeron is the founder of CrossFit New England and one of the best fitness coaches who coaches many of top athletes as well as regular every day people.

Ben was talking about a nutrition challenge they were doing at their gym and I thought it sounded cool and wanted to do it at ours too!  It's called the "Four Rule Nutrition Challenge".  For a short video which talks about how this challenge works click on the link below:

Rule #1.) You can eat anything you want as long as you comply with the other 3 rules! WHAT???!!!! But if you really want to knock your performance during the challenge out of the park you could try and stick to the clean eating formula, which is to eat lots of green vegetables, meats, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar with less processed / more perishable foods the best choice. 

Rule #2.) You must eat at a proper table. Not a desk. Not in your car. Not standing up.

Rule #3.) No screens visible while you are eating! That means no eating in front of the TV, no phones, ipads or computers visible.  (Eating with others instead of a screen would be a big plus)

Rule #4.) No alcohol. No not just during the meal but during the entire challenge.

I am going to do the challenge until at least after the CrossFit Open which is March 25th.

You can begin the challenge at any time.

I know it sounds difficult but we can totally do this!

What do you win if you successfully complete the challenge?

1.) Great fitness and health!

2.) A stronger body!

3.) A stronger mind!

4.) Setting a great example for others!

What could be better than that?

What happens if you fail?

You cannot fail if you try!  It's not about perfection but about just being better one day at a time! If you break one of the rules all you have to do is 10 burpees (if you don't know what a burpee is click this link to find out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU8QYVW0gDU) for each rule you broke at the time of  the infraction.
