Yesterday I met with one of our athletes for her monthly accountability meeting. She hasn't lost a pound since we last met even though she has been working out hard and following our nutrition plan as best she can.  She is a mother of three young children whom she home schools.

I was fully expecting her to lament about not losing weight since our last meeting, however, she shocked me by saying that she was feeling really great both physically and mentally and she was thrilled because she shaved a full minute off her baseline workout time! (We do one workout every month which involves a 500m row, 40 air squats, 30 sit ups, 20 push ups and 10 ring rows).

She then said that she also had a MAJOR breakthrough in class last Friday when the coach said that no one had yet finished the workout that we were doing that day and she put in her mind a goal for herself to finish it AND SHE DID!  ONE SECOND BEFORE THE BUZZER! This made her feel awesome and gave her great confidence at how fit both physically and mentally she was becoming.

She told me that as a full time mom it is difficult to know whether you are doing a good job or not and whether all the hard things you do everyday will make any difference at all. 

But when you come to our box and do our health and fitness program YOU KNOW whether you are getting better both mentally and physically EVEN IF THE SCALE DOESN'T MOVE!

I believe that THIS is MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT AND IMPORTANT than whether we have lost one, five or 100 lbs.  Not that losing weight we don't need isn't important, however, it's only one benefit of MANY that our program provides!

THIS is WHY we do this! To make our athletes stronger both PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY!
